WHO WE ARE

A life-giving church in Jackson: It all began in 2014 when Pastor Mike and Jen Popenhagen, feeling called by God, were sent from Radiant Church in Richland, Michigan to plant a life-giving church in Jackson. Armed with passion for people and an abandoned church building miraculously acquired and renovated in just eight weeks, they held their first service on March 4th, 2014, with 125 hopeful souls in attendance. What started as a modest gathering within the walls of an old brick sanctuary has blossomed into a vibrant community, united as one church in two locations across Jackson.

Though the numbers have grown, Radiant's core remains unchanged. We are a church fueled by prayer and worship. We are passionate about reaching people with the love and life-giving message of Jesus so they may become fully devoted followers of Christ. We believe Jesus transforms lives and our faith manifests in daily living, where freedom, connection, generosity, empowerment, and love for others bloom into beautiful realities.

God's faithfulness has woven itself through Radiant's history, from that inaugural service to the acquisition of a retreat center, the impactful freedom events, the establishment of a counseling ministry, and the launch of a second campus on Jackson's east side. We could never calculate the actual impact of how Radiant Church changes lives, strengthens marriages, empowers people, serves the community and gives hope to the world. And, with unwavering conviction, we believe God has more Kingdom-impact for the region we've been called to reach.
