True Nature of Happiness | God’s Rest - Pastor Mike Popenhagen

Matthew 11:28-30 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”  NIV

Indicators of a Fatigued Soul

  1. Things bother you more than they should.

2.    A sense you can never catch up or slow down.

3.    It’s hard to resist unhealthy cravings.

4.   You feel guilty for having down time or doing nothing.

Entering God’s Rest

1.    Return to Jesus and take responsibility for your life.

Galatains 6:4-5 4 Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. 5 For we are each responsible for our own conduct.  NLT

2.    Break busyness off of your life.

Pslams 39:6   We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing.  NLT

3.    Give everything and everyone to God.

1 Peter 5:7  Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.  NLT
