It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, 45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. 46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.
The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.” 48 When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breasts and went away. 49 But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.
How To Trust God In Hardship:
1. Resist becoming a victim of circumstances, instead stay secure as a child of God.
How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you.
2. Resist seeking solutions, instead seek His presence.
In the shelter of your presence you hide them from all human intrigues; you keep them safe in your dwelling from accusing tongues.
3. Resist allowing fear to consume you, instead surrender your fears to God.
In my alarm I said, “I am cut off from your sight!” Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help.
