Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. - Hebrews 2:14-15
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. - Romans 8:6
The Truth About Death
Jesus came to set us free from the grip of this ultimate fear.
I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” - Matthew 11:25-26
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—9 not by works, so that no one can boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9
For the unrepentant, judgment awaits.
But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. - Romans 2:5
And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. - Rev. 12-15
For the Christian, death is not the final word.
Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death. - John 8:51
